Our modern word applies a lot of pressure on people.
You can see it on the faces of people stuck in their cars on their way to and from work; on the faces of people on public transport and on the faces of people pretending to have fun while worrying about their lives.
From keeping a roof over our heads and food in our bellies to making sure we're keeping up with the latest trends lest we be thought of as behind the times, there's pressure from every angle.
Many of these pressures are things we apply to ourselves, others are created by the kind of society we've created for ourselves.
Among all of this is the pressure that seeking help is a weakness; that admitting defeat and needing help to get through our life as best we can is a terrible thing.
It's not a weakness! It's not a result of you not being able to manage things or that you are the failure!
Asking for help is a sign of strength. In fact it is one of the strongest things you can do!
It's not a sign that you've failed or that you can't handle life. It's a sign that you just need help, need some guidance or need someone to reach out to just to share your fears and frustrations.
There is nothing wrong with asking for help.
